Koepka acknowledged the financial repercussions of his return, agreeing to a five-year forfeiture of potential earnings from the PGA Tour’s Player Equity Program—an astounding penalty projected to cost him between $50 million and $85 million, depending on his performance and the Tour’s growth. Additionally, he plans to donate $5 million to a yet-to-be-named charitable organization.
It’s worth noting that Koepka has made history by being the first golfer to rejoin the PGA Tour after previously leaving for LIV.
