On January 6th, the SFA allowed Middleton International School to resume its food business operations at its central kitchen in Tampines. This decision was made after the company took the necessary steps to address the gastroenteritis outbreak.
During the suspension period, which began on November 21st, Middleton International School took proactive measures. They cleaned and sanitized their entire facility, including equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas. Additionally, their food handlers and hygiene officers underwent refresher courses on food safety, ensuring they were up-to-date with the latest practices.

Gastroenteritis, often referred to as stomach flu or food poisoning, is a serious condition causing inflammation of the stomach and intestines. Symptoms can include diarrhea, fever, and vomiting, and in this case, four individuals were hospitalized.
